To prepare for spring – clear, prune, assess, make an action plan

In the garden take time to clear away the clutter of sticks, stones, piles of leaves, dead plants, that are scattered throughout the landscape. Prune all dead and excess branches to allow sunlight to enter freely. Make neat piles of pruning debris. Pull away the leaves and mulch around the trunks and stems to allow absorption of water and light to the roots near each plant.

The above photo for me is a great example of a garden that can stimulate a sense of harmony, joy, and calmness. This is a garden that has been cleared of clutter, plants were pruned, and the gravel raked. Its beauty evolved from a specific design.
