Years ago I was taught an ancient, all-inclusive tradition that honors all life on earth – referring to life as ‘people’ rather than just their name. For example, Bird People, Eagle People, Tree People, etc.. At first it felt awkward, but through the years it has taught me a deeper reverence for the earth’s inhabitants.  It reminds me that all ‘People’ have not only a specific voice but also a special gift to share.

The Bald Eagle is a symbol of freedom with clarity of vision. His keen eyesight and athletic prowess is demonstrated when he swoops down from the sky to grab a fish out of the water. When detected getting a drink from our small pond behind our house, I have felt a strong sense of the Eagle People’s chi.
